The film takes a look at the language among these queens and how it is integrated into the ball...
Shade, Throwing Shade, Shady — When a person is doing you wrong in some way.
Reading, Reading to filth — To really let someone have it; to insult or criticize.
Serve — to deliver or present yourself in a particular way.
Realness — to represent a particular look or act very well.
Kiki — It’s a
gathering of sorts, where you gossip and talk about this and that.

DAME EDNA EVERAGE - A QUEEN TO BE RECKONED WITH
WHAT'S IN A NAME
Wigstock was an annual outdoor drag festival that began in the 1980s in New York's East Village. Traditionally the festival would act as the unofficial end to the summer for the gay community of New York City. Hosted by co-creator Lady Bunny, the festival was held in its first years in Tompkins Square Park. According to Lady Bunny, the event began spontaneously in 1984 after a group of drag queens became inebriated at the nearby Pyramid Club and decided to put on a show in the park.
